At IFGL, community development and inclusive growth are integral to our commitment towards responsible progress. Through continued support of the underprivileged sports development programme, several trainees are now prepared to compete at the state level a milestone made possible through sustained patronage.
With increased training intensity and rising operational needs, additional support in 2026 will help strengthen the programme through enhanced equipment, gear, and travel assistance. We remain confident that this initiative will soon see representation in the Bengal state rankings.

With a focus on dignity, awareness, and well-being, IFGL conducted a menstrual health initiative for adolescent students from Classes VI to IX. Along with the distribution of sanitary napkins, an interactive session on health and personal hygiene was held to create a safe space for learning, conversation, and confidence.
By addressing a fundamental yet often overlooked need, the initiative aimed to empower young students with knowledge, comfort, and the assurance that their health and dignity matter.
On November 11, KSB organised an inter-school science exhibition on the school campus, creating a platform for young minds to explore, innovate, and express scientific curiosity. A total of 20 projects were showcased across three groups, highlighting creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
The exhibition saw active participation from neighbouring schools including Priyadarshini School, Kalunga High School, and Saraswati Sishu Mandir, fostering collaboration and shared learning. The event concluded with a closing ceremony featuring prize and certificate distribution, celebrating effort, innovation, and the spirit of inquiry among students.
With a deep commitment to student well-being and continuity in education, teachers from Kalunga Shilpanchal Bidyalaya conducted home visits for students who had been absent for extended periods. Through personal interaction and understanding individual challenges, the initiative helped rebuild trust and motivation, resulting in improved regular attendance among several students.
On November 14, Children’s Day was celebrated at the school with joy and enthusiasm. Students actively participated in cultural performances, Children’s Day speeches, and a fancy dress competition, creating an atmosphere of creativity and confidence.
Adding to the celebration, School President Bikash Sir honoured one of our young Odissi dance performers with a cash prize, recognising talent, dedication, and artistic expression among our little stars.
On the eve of Children’s Day, KS Bidyalaya distributed new sweaters to all students, ensuring warmth, comfort, and care during the winter season. The initiative reflected a commitment to student well-being, reinforcing the belief that small acts of care can create a lasting sense of security and belonging.
Teachers are conducting smart classes for students from Classes V to IX through the DIKSHA portal, enabling digital access to structured and curriculum-aligned learning. The entire Odisha State Board syllabus is available on the platform, ensuring continuity and quality in education.
Separate login credentials for teachers and students facilitate effective classroom engagement, guided instruction, and independent learning, strengthening digital literacy and enhancing the overall learning experience.
On November 19, the Lathikata Block Education Office organised a block-level science exhibition camp at Hatibandha High School. Kalunga Shilpanchal Bidyalaya showcased three innovative projects, earning second prize in the Water Conservation and Management category.
The recognition highlights students’ growing awareness of sustainability and environmental responsibility, reflecting the impact of hands-on learning and scientific inquiry.
The District Health Department conducted an immunization and health check-up camp for school children, ensuring age-appropriate vaccinations and essential medical assessments. The initiative focused on preventive care and early health monitoring, supporting the overall well-being and healthy development of students.
On November 08, 2025, Kalunga Vocational Training Centre organised a certificate distribution ceremony for trainees from the Tailoring, Welder, Fitter, Machinist, and Electrical trades. A total of 44 trainees received their certificates, marking an important milestone in their skill development journey.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. N. K. Mishra and Mr. Trilok Tripathy, who encouraged the trainees and acknowledged their dedication towards building employable skills and sustainable livelihoods.
Batch-04 of the new tailoring programme commenced with 12 women participants, all demonstrating strong enthusiasm to build skills and create a sustainable source of income through the training. The programme is currently supported by two stitching machines; however, an additional machine is required to ensure smoother training operations and maximise learning outcomes for all participants.
In September, Batch-04 was initiated for the Machinist, Fitter, and Welding trades, along with Batch-03 for the Electrical trade. All batches are progressing smoothly, with both theory and practical classes being conducted regularly to ensure comprehensive skill development.
Parallelly, placement planning is underway for students across these trades. Discussions have already been held with the Trident CEO regarding potential electrical placements at their upcoming site. Interviews for interested candidates are expected to be scheduled soon, with resumes of 10 candidates already shared for consideration.
IFGL donated 22 oxygen concentrators to four charitable hospitals and two healthcare organisations. This timely intervention strengthened emergency response systems and enabled access to life-saving oxygen therapy for underprivileged communities in underserved districts, significantly improving patient outcomes during respiratory emergencies.
IFGL Refractories Ltd visited the Marwari Relief Society Hospital in Barabazar, Kolkata, which is celebrating 112 years of dedicated service. To support respiratory care, IFGL donated advanced oxygen concentrators—critical equipment for patients with breathing difficulties. This initiative reinforces our mission to make quality healthcare more accessible.
IFGL is honoured to support The Compassion Trust, an inspiring organisation that runs an orphanage in Bangalore, as part of our ongoing CSR initiatives. Through our contribution, we've helped provide essential school supplies, stationery, books, and covered school fees ensuring that every child has the tools they need to learn, grow, and chase their dreams. This is our small but heartfelt step toward shaping a brighter, more empowered future for these young hearts.
IFGL donated a wheelchair to a diabetes patient with vision and kidney challenges, enhancing mobility and enabling regular hospital visits for dialysis. This initiative reflects IFGL’s commitment to supporting persons with disabilities and fostering a more inclusive society.
Under Project “Digital Deep,” IFGL donated seven laptops. Five to Ramakrishna Mission Shilpamandira and two to Shalom Orphanage in Bangalore. The initiative has enabled digital access for over 75 students, supporting skill-based education, improving employability, and fostering inclusive growth for youth from marginalized communities.
The school provides free education to children from weaker sections of society and is independently operated by the Headmaster under the supervision and guidance of a Managing Committee comprising about 11 members, the majority of whom are IFGL Executives. Additionally, sanitary napkins are distributed to adult students from classes V to VIII, alongside awareness programs on maintaining health and hygiene during menstruation.
IFGL extends its support to Priyadarshini UP School, Kalunga, which serves co-educational students from classes VI to VIII. The initiative includes the distribution of essential educational materials such as stationery, books, and notebooks, reinforcing IFGL’s commitment to fostering quality education among underprivileged youth.
The KASEZ School at Kandla, focuses on enhancing educational opportunities for local children. Through the provision of essential learning materials and resources, IFGL reinforces its dedication to empowering youth and promoting inclusive education in the community.
Kalunga Vocational Training Centre offers different courses including Tailoring, Welding, and Electrical, running smoothly on weekends. Students engage in practical projects using scrap materials and assist with school maintenance. With ongoing counselling, new batch enrolments, and extended On-Job Training, the centre focuses on skill-building and certification, enhancing employability and community development.
